Large aircraft radial tires are one of the key components of advanced aircraft. They have the characteristics of overload, high speed, high inflation internal pressure, large deformation, and short-term wide temperature range. They are regarded as a important sign of country's high-end manufacturing level and advanced technology research and development. Western developed countries have long monopolized the manufacturing technology of large aircraft tires and impose blockades on other countries. Radial tires for large aircraft have become a "stuck neck" problem that needs to be solved urgently in the development of China's large aircraft manufacturing industry.
In July 2018, Ningxia Shenzhou Tire joined with Zhejiang University, Ningxia University, Beijing Rubber Industry Research and Design Institute and other domestic high-level universities and scientific research units who engaged in polymer and rubber materials research. With the strong support of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Government and the Department of Science and Technology, Form a research and development team to carry out research on the structural mechanics, all structure, materials and composite technologies, manufacturing technologies and processes of large aircraft radial tires. The first prototype tire rolled off the assembly line on May 27, 2019. On November 21, 2020, it successfully passed the dynamic simulation test in the National Laboratory. The success of this test indicates that the development of China's large aircraft radial tires has broken the technological monopoly of developed countries and achieved a breakthrough in the development of China's large aircraft radial tires, which has a significant role in promoting China's aviation industry.
